ccTLD Names Council Elections

Nominations Open Announcement Sent 13 July 1999:

Dear ccTLD Admin Contacts,

Just a reminder that nominations are now being accepted in respect of the three Names Council representaives that the cTLD constituency are allowed to elect to the Names Council of the Domain Names Support Organisation. Nominations can be accepted up to 25 July 1999.

ICANN will require every constituency to have new elections after the constituencies are formally recognised in November so these elections are for a 4 to 5 month period only and will provide a useful benchmark of the system

Nominations should be sent to fay@centr.org and, if you wish, also wwtld@ripe.net .
I will announce all nominations to the wwtld list in any case as well as publishing nominations on the constituency Webpages at:
http://www.wwtld.org/elections.html

Please make sure nominations originate only from the email address of the Administrative Contact so it can be verified with the list provided by IANA/ICANN. Before the voting period starts, I will send the full list of candidates to the list of electors with a reminder that voting is open. When making a nomination, please provide the following information.it would be helpful if you used the template below.

To save time and keep traffic to a minimum, please check privately in advance with the person you are nominating that they are happy to be nominated.

If candidates wish to provide a brief biography of themselves and election statement, I will be happy to publish these on the election page of the Website also.

Kind regards
