Communiqué of the World Wide Alliance of ccTLD Managers meetings in Cape Town, South Africa, 30 November 2004

Representatives from 18 ccTLD registry managers from all ICANN's geographical regions met in Cape Town to discuss several topics of mutual interest on the occasion of the wwTLD meeting, which was facilitated by the .za DNA http://zadna.org.za and hosted by Uniforum SA http://co.za/.

The meeting opened with a report of the different regional groups, CENTR, LACTLD, AFTLD, APTLD. The first part was dedicated to "Services for new TLDs". Then, it followed a session on zone walk issues, DNSSEC and IPv6.

The facilitators ended with an open forum which focused on registry-government relationships, views exchange on WHOIS issues, registry-registrars interactions, phases registries go through.

The next meeting will be held in conjunction with the first ICANN 2005 meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina. LACTLD and CABASE have kindly agreed to facilitate and host this meeting. The agenda is expected to be released by the end of January.
